Hi, I’m Dory. I haven’t always had an easy story.

I came to the shelter after going through some things no dog should have to experience. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the past doesn’t have to decide what comes next.

Because despite everything I still love.

I’m a sweet girl with a gentle heart and I get along really well with other dogs. I’m not the type to burst into a room and demand attention - I’m a little quieter than that. I like to take my time, settle in and learn that I’m safe.

Once I do though? You’ll see the real me.

The soft eyes. The quiet tail wags. The little moments where I choose to sit closer and closer until one day I realize maybe life can be easy.

That’s all I’m really looking for. Not perfection. Not excitement.

Just a soft place to land. A family that understands healing isn’t always loud and sometimes it looks like naps, routine, kindness and learning how to trust again.

I think I’m ready for that now. Maybe you are too.
