Hi, I’m Piper! I’m a 5-year-old Doberman with a heart that’s just as big as my hopes. I came to the Timmins and District Humane Society back in August 2024, full of dreams about finding my forever home.

For a while, I thought I had found it… but almost a year later, I found myself back here, still waiting. I tried again in another home recently, but it wasn’t the right match either.

I know I’m not the easiest dog to adopt. I’m an older, big lady and I’ve had my share of health battles. I had a cancerous lump removed (so far, so good), and I’ve been diagnosed with von Willebrand’s disease, which is common in Dobermans. I can get anxious when left alone, and I’ll admit - I’m picky about my company. I do great with small dogs and grown-ups, but big dogs and little humans just aren’t my thing.

But here’s what I can promise you: my heart is enormous and my love runs deep. I listen well, I bond hard and once I love you - I love you forever. I don’t want to be seen as a challenge. I just want someone to see me for who I am: a loyal, resilient companion who’s ready to give all the love I have left.

Somewhere out there, my person is waiting. I know it.

Could it be you?
