Hi, I’m Piper—a tall, curvy Doberman with a big heart and an even bigger personality.

I first came to the Timmins & District Humane Society over a year ago and thought I had found my forever home. But sometimes, things just don’t work out the way we hoped. So, I’m back—and still holding onto the dream that my perfect person is out there, just waiting for a dog like me.

Let’s get the honest stuff out of the way first: I’m a bit of a project, but I promise I’m a lovable one. I’ve got some health issues that need a little extra care and understanding. I had a cancerous lump (a mast cell tumor) removed. There’s a chance it could come back—we just don’t know. I also have von Willebrand’s disease, a clotting disorder that’s common in Dobermans, so my future family will need to be mindful of that, especially when it comes to injuries or surgeries.

On top of that, I’ve put on some extra pounds—okay, more than a few. So, I’m currently working on getting back to a healthier weight. I’ll need a family who can help keep me on track with proper portions, low-cal snacks, and regular exercise (bonus points if you make it fun!).

I love people—but only the big ones. Little dogs? I’m a fan. Big dogs? Unfortunately, they aren't my cup of kibble. I also have some anxiety, especially when I bond closely with someone and then get left alone. It’s hard for me, but with the right support and training, I know I can make progress.

If you’ve got room in your heart for a dog who’s a little extra—in size, in personality, and in love—then I might just be the one for you. I may not be perfect, but I’ve got so much love to give to the right person. Could that person be you?
