Hi, I’m Diesel.  If you’ve followed my journey, you might recognize me. I was at the shelter for a very long time before finally getting adopted. Everyone celebrated when I left because after waiting so long, it finally felt like my happy ending had arrived.

But now I’m back. I was returned because things didn’t work out with the other dog in the home. While that relationship wasn’t the right fit, I have proven to do well with neutered males and female dogs. Sometimes finding the right match takes more than one try.

Still… coming back has been hard.

The shelter staff know me well because they were my family for such a long time. They watched me wait while other dogs came and went. They watched me keep hoping anyway. And now they’re watching me try to understand why I’m here again.

Through it all, I’ve remained the same sweet, incredibly smart boy I’ve always been. I love deeply, learn quickly and give my whole heart to the people I trust. More than anything, I just want a family of my own - one that will love me forever, flaws and all.

I know my perfect home is still out there somewhere. I have to believe that all this waiting will someday lead me exactly where I’m meant to be.

Until then, I’ll keep hoping.
