Hi, I’m Darla. Life hasn’t always been easy for me. I didn’t get the kind of start every dog deserves and while I’ve come a long way, I’m still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place.

I can be a little worried at times and new situations may make me pause, but underneath it all I’m a sweet girl with so much love to give. Once I know I can trust you, I settle in and show my gentle, affectionate side.

One thing that could really help me feel confident? Having another calm, confident dog around. I do well with other dogs and would thrive in a home where I can learn from a steady canine friend who can show me that life doesn’t have to feel so scary.

What I’m looking for most is patience, understanding and someone who will celebrate the little wins with me. I may not be the dog who jumps in with four paws right away, but give me time and I promise I’ll be worth it.
