Hi, I'm Lucy. You might remember me from when I first arrived at the shelter. Back then, I didn't look anything like the dog I am today. My skin was painfully infected, my eyes and ears were sore and I was uncomfortable all the time. But thanks to the incredible care I received, endless love and people who believed I deserved a second chance, I've transformed into the beautiful girl you see today.

I still have a little ways to go on my journey. I may need medication for the rest of my life to help keep my skin healthy and prevent flare-ups, but that's just one small part of who I am. I'm feeling better than ever, and I'm so ready to find a family of my own.

When you first meet me, I can be a little shy. I like to take my time getting to know new people. But once I realize you're my friend...watch out! My goofy side comes out in full force. I'm wiggly, playful, silly and I absolutely love to make my people smile.

I'd really like to be the center of attention in my new home. The shelter is still learning whether I'd be happy sharing my life with another dog, so more introductions and testing would be needed before that decision is made.

What I do know is that I need someone experienced with dogs - someone who understands that every dog has a story and that some of us need a little extra care. I need a family who is committed to keeping me healthy, making sure I stay on top of my medical care, and giving me all the love I've waited so
long to find.

I may not have had the easiest start, but I refuse to let that define me. I'm healthy. I'm happy. I'm hopeful. Now all I need is you.
