A birthday celebration for TDHS’s most iconic greeter. 🎉🐾 Happy 17th Birthday to our girl, Runner! 🐾🎉 If you’ve ever walked through the doors of the Timmins & District Humane Society, chances are you’ve been greeted by our resident celebrity herself - Runner! 😻 Runner came to live with us two years ago and quickly took on the very important role of official door greeter, welcoming staff, visitors and volunteers with her signature sass and senior charm. 💛 Today, we’re celebrating this incredible girl and all the joy she brings to our shelter every single day. At 17 years young, Runner proves that age is just a number, especially when there are cuddles and treats involved! Pound Services and By-Laws City of Timmins Pet Licensing Every day at the Timmins & District Humane Society dogs and cats arrive at the shelter lost and without identification. Most animals that arrive at the shelter display absolutely no form of identification and without id, it is very challenging and often impossible for the TDHS staff to reunite pets with their owners. Something so simple as identifying your pet can save its life. You love your pets and never expect that they could get lost.. yet hundreds of pets get lost in Timmins and area every year! This article will discuss the legal requirements and the rewards of properly identifying your pet in the City with the Heart of Gold. Municipalities across Canada have recognized the importance of pet identification by creating bylaws that require registration of all dogs and cats with a City Pet License. Please note that pet licenses expire annually! Your Neighbourhood Credit Union’s support helps provide care and comfort for animals in need at TDHS < Back YNCU 🐾 A huge THANK YOU to Your Neighbourhood Credit Union! 🐾 We are so grateful to Your Neighbourhood Credit Union for their generous $300 donation in support of the animals in our care. Donations like this help provide food, medical care, warmth and comfort to animals who need it most. We truly couldn’t do this work without community partners like you. On hand to accept the donation was adoptable pup Moose, who clearly felt right at home. He fit in so well, he was hired on the spot and immediately put to work 🐶💼 (Salary negotiable...paid in treats and belly rubs.) This wonderful gift will help bring warmth, care and comfort to the animals spending the holidays with us while they wait for their forever homes. We were delighted to welcome Shellie Lacoste, Community Engagement Officer, to the shelter to present the donation to Chelsey Romain, Manager of Shelter Operations. We are absolutely blown away by the generosity and dedication shown by our friends at Pet Valu Timmins during the month of June! Thanks to their incredible fundraising efforts — and the kindness of our amazing community — an unbelievable $19,454.99 was raised for the animals in our care, along with $2,080 worth of donated goods! And let’s not forget the mountain of toys generously donated by KONG — just ask Gunther, who was more than happy to pose and “inspect” them all.
